Hello!

I'm Bridgette, cooking, creating recipes, and sharing meals with my friends and family are what I love to do most. My grandpa gave me my first cookbook when I was seven and I have been cooking ever since. My goal is to come up with recipes that have elements of foods that I loved growing up and use those recipes to share meals and make lasting memories with the people I care about. Throughout the year I host seasonal dinners that allow me to be creative in the kitchen and gather together with friends for a delicious meal.  At the end of the night everyone goes home with the recipes for the food we shared and new memories made.

Food and shared meals create lasting memories for us in a way that few other things do. The holiday meals shared with family, the fried chicken only your grandpa could make, the sandwiches always eaten with salty fingers after a day at the beach, the wild blackberries picked and eaten warm from the hot August sun, the dinner party with all of your closest friends where no one wanted to leave because it just felt like home.

Five Things I Love

This is a list of five food related things that I currently love using. I will update it periodically as I discover new fun things! It could be food, cookbooks, kitchen tools, or anything that I find and think others would enjoy knowing about.

* none of these things are in any way sponsored, I just really love         them.

Jacobsen Salt Company - their salt has amazing flavor and texture and its harvested on the Oregon Coast which is one of my favorite places.

1.

Earlywood -  beautifully handcrafted wooden scrapers, spoons, rolling pins, and cutting boards. I have the scrapers and I love them.

2.

Soom Tahini - I was introduced to this brand of tahini at a cooking class and its the best I've had. It has great flavor and texture without being bitter like other brands. I put it in everything, from salad dressing to ice cream

3.

Barebones - They specialize in goods for outdoor living. I have two cast iron pans from them and both are wonderful for cooking outside over a fire and also in the oven. I use the dutch oven for clams and the skillet for my cornmeal cake.

4.

The Pantry - if you live in the Seattle area or are visiting I recommend taking a cooking class here. I've taken over 30 classes and I can't say enough about how wonderful the instructors and recipes are. And while you are there grab some pizza at Delancey, which shares the same building. Its the best pizza in Seattle, in my opinion.
